Hi, I’m Naorose. I’m a Software Engineer II at Proton, based in East London.

For the past couple of years I’ve been working at ProtonVPN — a place with values I truly believe in. We’re a lean team of 5 engineers serving backend services to over 100 million users (~11 million daily active users). It’s a small team given a lot of responsibility and a lot of interesting challenges — including keeping things running through 400,000% traffic surges when geopolitical crises drive people to VPNs overnight.

Before Proton, I spent two years at Amazon Global Transportation, building tools to plan and configure the world’s largest delivery network. Systems I built served over 100,000 clients. One of the projects I led sped up every delivery in Europe by a comfortable margin.

I hold an M.Eng in Computing from Imperial College London (First Class Honours).

For over 10 years, I’ve been teaching programming at local primary and secondary schools. There’s something that sticks with you when a kid runs their first working program and realises what’s possible.
